SUNDAY APRIL 15 2018 AT 3PM I VANCOUVER PLAYHOUSE

Born in 1994 in Paris, Edgar Moreau began playing the cello at the tender age of four. At 15 he received the prize for the “most promising contestant” at the Rostropovich Cello Competition and two years later he won 2nd Prize and the Silver Medal at the International Tchaikovsky Competition. He was also honoured for the “Best performance of a work written specially for the competition” by Krzysztof Penderecki. In 2014 he won First Prize at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions. Noted for his intense, dramatic style, Edgar “has already found his place in the great tradition of French cello-playing” (Diapason). This not-to-be-missed performance marks his Canadian recital debut.
